I’ve very excited about this week’s happiness habit. It is the one technique which has had the most impact on my own personal journey in terms of peace of mind and contentment. And it even helped me make my dream come true - getting my first book published.
Many of my clients report that after our coaching, it is the enduring habit that they won’t ever let go of, so happily addicted are they to the practice. Intrigued? Then read on to write yourself happy...
What difference have you made to yourself from connecting with people this week?
“When someone does something good, applaud! You will make two people happy.”
Samuel Goldwyn
So you’ve been noticing the different and similar elements of nature in the people around you? How has that gone for you? Are you more or less frustrated with what you experience in others? Confused? Or has this helped you gain understanding and compassion for the quirky ways that maybe drove you mad before?
When I worked in recruitment we had a little joke that if it weren’t for clients, candidates and colleagues, the job would be just perfect. We didn’t mean it of course. You don’t go into recruitment if you hate people. But it has to be said that there were days everyone would feel that other people and their quirky ways were the biggest block to their own personal happiness.
Congratulations! You’ve been building habits of happiness this week in the art of being positive and I hope your mood has benefited from the small effort it takes to be more conscious of how you choose to think.
“Happiness is not a reward – it is a consequence. Suffering is not a punishment – it is a result.”
R.G Ingersoll
So how are you getting on with the ABCDE model, introduced on Monday? Have you found yourself better able to detach from unpleasant thoughts and feelings, and move more quickly to resourceful action?
